This page -- which purports to show a science experiment proving that microwaved water killed a plant -- has been making the email rounds. It struck me as a hoax, but unlike most email hoaxes, I couldn't find any webpages (such as Snopes or similar pages) debunking it. Too new, perhaps?
UPDATE: My brother points me to this link.

ReplyDeleteThis microwaved water scare story has been doing the rounds down here in Australia too. I thought I'd do a search to see if it's another one of those silly email hoaxes and that's how I came across this blog. The whole thing has the ring about it of someone obsessed with "the lurking microwave menace". I'd be interested to hear whether there's any credible evidence to substantiate this sad tale of wilted leaves: http://www.rense.com/general70/microwaved.htm
ReplyDeleteSnopes did debunk this urban legend. http://www.snopes.com/science/microwave/plants.asp
ReplyDeleteSnopes did not debunk any legend. The guy in snopes supposedly did an experiment that was more scientific, but how do w know he wan't just trying to put HIS own agenda across? He could work in the microwave industry, he could own a plant, the company. No one saw him experiment either. Everyone here is so gullible.
ReplyDeleteNeither of these so called experiments are are " scientific", but who cares? Do your own research, if the plant dies throw out your microwave and report here.
