Andy McKee

One of the best guitarists I've seen in a long time:

Thanks to my old pal (and former guitar duet partner) Jon Adams of Montana Skies for tipping me off to Andy McKee.

So interesting. Totally different style, but you might find Scotty Anderson amusing. He's kind of an under-recognized country jazz guitarist. Here's a fun clip. In particular, check out the crazy double stops at 1:27. Whatever.

Cool. You might like Joscho Stephan -- look him up on YouTube.

Yeah, Joscho's really good. I'm wagering you're familiar with Bireli Lagrene? If not, he was a gypsy wunderkind, blazing Django at the age of eight (albeit with all four left-hand fingers). Now plays bop, funk and fusion with equal aplomb. Plus, he's a pretty okay vocalist with a nice, Sinatra-like tone. I don't really listen to guitar shredders, but Bireli really is amazing. Another one for the "You Might As Well Give It Up" file...
