The US Post Office has a handy website where you can look up someone's zip code by entering their address. Oddly enough, the form has a field where you can enter . . . their zip code.
Actually, the form is still useful for something if you know the zip code. It gives you the zip+4 number that most people never learn about their own address. It's still unnecessary to type it in, since it works without that, but it's not as if knowing the zip code (and thus being able to type it in) makes the form useless.
